Everything needed to get checks running and results flowing into your stack.
Start here
- Install the agent — package install, workspace enrolment, first check.
- Ingest protocol — how the agent talks to a regional endpoint such as
network.pingform.org. - HTTP API — manage checks, read results, export raw samples.
Concepts
Workspace
The top-level container. Every agent, check and API token belongs to exactly one workspace, and
workspace IDs look like wk_8f3c91ba. The ID appears in the ingest path, so results from
different workspaces never share a connection.
Check
A single assertion executed on a schedule: a request, an expectation, a set of vantage points. Checks are declared in the agent config or created through the API; the two are equivalent and the agent reconciles them on start.
Vantage point
A location a check runs from. Managed vantage points are listed on the probe network page. You can also register private vantage points inside your own VPC — the agent then both executes checks and relays results.
Ingest endpoint
A regional host that terminates agent connections. The agent resolves the closest one at startup and keeps a single multiplexed connection to it. Endpoints are stateless; losing one moves agents to the next region on reconnect without data loss, because the agent buffers locally.
